Description |
The 10/20/1911 Okanogan Independent reported "Local Pathfinders 'Hit The Trail'" which described the trip of the first automobile to go from town of Okanogan to Condon's Ferry. The photo's would have been taken on Oct. 16, 1911. The water behind and below the group is Big Goose Lake. Harry Folmsbee is in the car on the left made the trip all the way to Condon's Ferry while other two cars turned around at Cold Springs. Folmsbee's car was an EMF (Everitt, Metzger & Flanders) make. One of the cars that turned around was an EMF owned by John Forsyth. Ira Freer owned the Locomobile (on far right) which also turned around. Fifteen men started the trip with five making it to the ferry. |
