Washington Nursery Co. delivering 20,000 fruit trees, April 9, 1909. Ralph M. Snider (now of Tacoma) standing on box beside grandfather, Joseph N. Snider, who had arrived in area early in 1909. Ralph's father was P. M. Snider, who came to Okanogan in January 1908 from Nebraska to be cashier at Commercial Bank. Photo postcard from R.M. Snider J. N. Piercey was the original county appointed fruit tree inspector with the job of reducing the spread of contagious tree diseases and improve productivity of orchards through farmer/orchardist education. |
