Description |
Large group of men and women having a picnic break from working on the Elgin Canyon road. A horse and buggy are behind the group with the men sitting and the women standing. The road construction project was discussed in the 8/11/1911 Okanogan Independent with the road coming down the north side of Elgin canyon connecting with the river road at the Elgin ranch. In the Omak Chronicle, "Pictures from the Past", the people are identified and the pictures was used in the paper by permission of the WSU librarian. See January 28, 1965, page 10.
