Sternwheeler "North Star" on Guthrie Rapids in Matsura photo with attached Wenatchee World newspaper article from 4/24/1948 titled "40 Years Ago" reading "The steamer "North Star' which left Brewster Sunday morning for Nespelem, was wrecked while attempting to line thorugh Box Canyon. As the steamer entered the swiftest part of the rapids the line broke and allowed it to drift on the rocks and puncture the bow. The boat has been brought to Wenatchee for repairs, and will make another try at the rapids." |
